I have used these rain storm pants for two years. they made it to 12000 ft (altitude sickness is my Achilles Heal) on Mt Rainer, Mt Adams, Mt Saint Helens, Mt Whitney all with some pretty long slides. I walked 1100 miles on the PCT last year with several hundred miles of a lot of snow/ice, with these as my second pair of pants, sand storms to falling off Forester Pass. One of the lower zippers stopped working, but I could open and close the lateral leg with the upper zipper. Called Whittaker and I had a new pair at no additional cost within a week. The belt line is kind of low cut for me but being older my boys tell me I just wear all my pants too high. For the weight I felt they worked very well. Never got wet from rain. I have been in some heavy rains for hours with these pants. Good even without insulation when the temperature drops. Excellent wind break. Can be warm so the lateral zipper adjusment from top and bottom is great, also you can get them on and off very easily.

I love these pants... I take them every time I go out for days on end in the PNW rainy weather, any time of year. The zippers are great, and the full length zipper is soooo convenient in the rain and snow to get them on and off without having to remove my boots. On of my friend's pair did have zipper failure, but I suspect that they can be repaired under warranty (they were not abused). They are very very water proof, and often negate the need for an under layer beneath my regular pants. For their weatherproof quailities, they are not over weight, and when I put them on it is usually under conditions where the weight is well warranted. Anything less would be insufficient when 50 miles out and needing to stay dry in cold conditions. They come off so easily that I am also more likely to actually use them... since the hassle factor of doing so is minimal. I tend to keep them and my bc-200 or 300 in the outside pockets of my pack... ready to go at a moments notice. This is one great piece of gear.

I also purchased these pants for my son and he loves how they fit. I relied on the size charts and they were right on. I would definitely rely on the size charts for future purchases.

These pants are very well made. They kept me dry in the rain, were perfect for glissading and also served as a good layer against wind and cold in a Rainier summit whiteout. The M is a perfect fit for me (I am 33W/32L). I am also grateful for the extra doublepadding around the ankle area - although I ripped them with my crampons, it made repair much easier without compromising the inner liner. I highly recommend them.

I've made 4 extended trips in these pants and they are bomber! From dumping rain to wet snow conditions these pants are 100% dry and still breathable. I have a 31 inch waist and ordered the medium to go over my layers and have been happy with the fit. They are a tad big but I'm sure the small wouldn't have fit well over a base and loft layer combined. The high side zips are nice for getting on/off and pulling over boots. I've worn mine for over 3 weeks straight and have yet to find any wear. Most of all, I love the quiet material these are made out of. Outstanding purchase.

I bought these for a wide range of activities from climbing in the cascades to shoveling snow at home. They are very well built and have performed well so far. The only problem I've had so far is that I took them to the slopes for some downhill skiing (which I don't do much of) and they don't fit well over the huge ski boots I rented. Since that's not what I bought them for, I'm not disappointed.

I purchased this product for a recent Rainier climb, and it performed great. I loved the side zips, which made getting them off and on with my boots still on, quite easy. It didn't end up raining on the trip, but we glissaded down about 4000 feet of the mountain, and I had these on the entire time, and there isn't even a scratch on them! They feel durable, and I look forward to wearing them in a down-pour. I have no complaints about the item.
