The TIKKA XP 2 headlamp integrates two light sources as well as a Wide Angle lens with a simple open-close feature, allowing the user to choose between a long distance focused beam and flood beam proximity lighting. This headlamp is equipped with a white high-output LED and a red LED. The white LED delivers 80 lumens in maximum mode and lights up to 68 meters. In economic mode, it can reach a burn-time of 190 hours. The red LED provides back-up lighting useful for preserving night vision, or strobe lighting for increased safety, for example in an urban setting.

This Headlamp is by far the brightest I have used. Just purchased for an upcoming Summit of Wa. high point and tried it out with an alpine start of my favorite trail. I was very happy with the brightness and how light it is. Would recommend to anyone. Kevin

As you might expect from Petzl, this is a fine product and worked well. Would purchase again and would recommend to others.

It's a decent upgrade from the last xp, it's brighter overall and has the red light feature which is good. The last models had 3 white light dimming options( this one has only 2), the lowest of which I used the most cause it conserves battery and heat after your eyes adjust. The red light on this one is good if you don't need a lot of light, but not good if you have to distinguish colors in the dark. The the plastic lens and spot reflector options make this the most versatile headlamp I've used. I hope the next model has the lowest white light level option the older models had for years.
