The lightest belay knife out there. It accommodates a carabiner and clips easily to your harness for use in emergencies. (Our Guides have also been known to use it to reach the bottom of a peanut butter jar.) Its one-handed operation is made even easier with the thumb stud-you can open and close the locking blade with your gloves on.

With knives, there is a trade-off between durability and lightness. This knife chooses the latter. The blade and the handle have a somewhat cheap and chincy look and feel, but this should not deter someone who is looking for a light belay knife (and it is light!) The blade can be sharpened to a razor's edge. My only complaint is that when holding the knife, the design of the handle positions the thumb (on top of the blade) far forward of the index finger (below the blade). This is awkward. Consider moving the thumb grip surface backwards.
