First Ascent is cut closer to the body for a great, active fit with no bunching or binding. It is built as a complete system. All pieces - outerwear, insulating layers and baselayer - are cut so the body and sleeve lengths of each successive layer are slightly longer than the one underneath.

I purchased the Cloudlayer Zip Top on Sunday and took it with me to Mt. St. Helens Tuesday. I had it on at 3:30am when we started our climb but got hot quickly and then shoved it in my bag. At the top I pulled it out again and it felt great. On the way down I lost my balance and fell on some screen/pumice. My elbow scrapped up some but I was very pleased to see the fleece only got dirty, no rips. I shoved it in my carryon for my flight home and easily pulled it out and put it on when it was cold in the airport and on the plane. I have only had it a few days but can see it will be a versatile take anywhere layer. I did end up going with the men's just because I prefer my fleece layers a little looser.

I just got the men's cloudlayer 1/4 zip top and I love it. I was suprised how warm it is since it is so lightweight. It looks and feels like it is quality made. This is definately something that I would recommend.
