These pants really pack down small. The UPS box they came in was so small I honestly thought it was my daughters replacement cell phone that she had been waiting for. Thanks to Adam with the Whittaker Mountaineering staff. Super helpful and right on with his details on the pants. The shell had 3 small visible holes in the thigh that appear to be seam taped and glued. Other than that they look brand new. The patches are water proof, passing the shower test and they weigh half as much as my old REI Shuksan shell pant. I'm no sponsored climber, so saving $100 on these was great. If the elements are so rough that I need them nobody is going to notice, and I wont care how a few, small patches look. I couldn't fairly give these 5 stars only because I haven't tried these in the mountains yet.

I bought a used pants so I knew what I was getting. It was delivered on time. Any tears on the pants were already patched. It is a good pants since I rented one when I signed up with RMI to climb Mt. Rainier. I looked forward to using it.

I can't really attest to the functionality/ quality of theses pants. First of all they are used. Second, when I received them they had multiple perforations that had not been patched. Needless to say, but I was a little disappointed in this. I patched the holes and applied a fresh coat of DWR treatment. Next season we will see how they perform. Not really the bargain I was hoping for.
