- First Ascent is cut closer to the body for a great, active fit with no bunching or binding. It is built as a complete system. All pieces - outerwear, insulating layers and baselayer - are cut so the body and sleeve lengths of each successive layer are slightly longer than the one underneath.

Great quality rain pants that repelled wind and wet snow very effectively on Rainier! I like the zip fly which makes it super easy to wear these over a harness for glacier travel (I just button the pants and let the 'biner stick out of my fly). I knocked off a star only because these are 7/8-zip pants... please make one with a full length zip! Sooo much easier to put on with crampons on a snowy slope.
