Simple. Simple. Simple. Built for a day in the mountains. Or as a super-efficient carry-on bag. Or an in-town work pack. The main compartment's multi-use sleeve accommodates a laptop computer or a hydration system. It's no wonder that when he guides on Kilimanjaro, Peter Whittaker says, "This pack is my travel partner-on the plane, all the way to the summit."

Bought this pack a few months ago and it's been a great pack so far! While I have more expensive ones and ones with more features, I find myself reaching for this pack more than the others just for the pure simplicity of the design. They did a great job designing this pack. It's very lightweight. My only complaint would be, I wish they had included a sternum strap, but that's easy enough to add your own. You really can't go wrong with this pack.

Great pack. Highly recommended for short hikes or plain old traveling. Good space inside, the extra compartments are well thought-out, tightening straps are really useful. Its slim vertical shape is another plus - it makes the pack feel less bulky. Good looking (got the Graphite) to boot.

This pack is pure genius. The moniker of First Ascent "Everything you need, nothing you don't" perfectly describes this pack. I have other daypacks and hate the excess straps and gadgets all over the place that get in the way. The interior is large enough that minimalists could easily handle overnights. The pack rests perfectly on my hips allowing me to carry plenty of weight without sacrificing comfort.
