These glasses are solid eye wear. I purchased them for winter mountaineering in Colorado, and haven't been disappointed. I usually don't skimp on purchasing high quality gear, and I've came to accept the correlation between high quality and high cost. However, while these are about the cheapest glacial glasses out there, there is no sacrificing because of it. I've had them for two seasons without any structural problems. Most importantly, they block enough light to save your eyes, just like they should. Secondly, I love the old-school style, with leather side shields. The shields might block the periphery more than the slicker modern styles, but I never felt my vision was constrained because of it. I've used these glasses at 14,433 ft on a snow covered mountain and at 600 ft while driving through blinding snow covered fields of the Midwest, without disappointment. Anything more expensive would be overkill, so save some dough and buy extra socks, or whatever.
