About a year and a half ago, I attended a talk by one of the authors. I was impressed enough by his well thought out and medically sound approach to aerobic and strength training that I bought the book. It explains in detail the way the body works and specific exercises for various sports, including sport climbing, mountaineering and hiking. The challenge in using the book is having the discipline to break old habits and use the training workouts detailed. The book is complete enough that if you follow the training for a specific sport, you will see good improvement with a lessened chance of injury. It has been helpful while I train for Rainer.
