Our most versatile synthetic baselayer keeps you dry and warm. A fundamental to be worn for weeks on alpine routes, washed in glacial streams, and dried in the slipstream of a bus window. Our Capilene® 3 Midweight provides excellent insulation and ultimate comfort next to the skin. The most versatile and fastest wicking of our performance baselayers, it stretches, dries quickly and resists wear. Brushed on the inside for warmth, Capilene 3 is soft and compressible, and the smooth jersey exterior glides smoothly under layers. The low-bulk zip-neck makes for easy venting. Details include raglan sleeves and underarm panels for unlimited mobility and offset shoulder seams to eliminate pack-strap chafe. Made of a 5.4-oz Polartec® Power Dry® polyester (65% recycled) double knit with Gladiodor® odor control for the garment. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Wore this skiing and during our snow storm. 17 degrees with 40mph winds atop Copper Mountain, CO. I wore this with a Patagonia R1 pullover and North Face apex jacket. I was cozy! I'm 6'2" 140lbs really tall and skinny. I bought a medium and it was perfect. Thanks for the sale Whittaker, will be buying more for Denali!

I prefer a baselayer that fits tightly rather than one that fits loosely. I'm 6'1" 165lbs and a Large fits right on length to the waist and to the arms, but is fairly baggy around my body. It is a little light for wearing during the winter under a coat, but is perfect during the summer while hiking. The zipper is nice to vent heat. Like the previous review I agree about the price. This packs down pretty small and is light for how warm it is. I am overall pleased with the layer, but would get a tighter fitting base layer next time.

The fit is perfect (I'm 6'2", 200lbs) with an XL, which provides plenty of length in the back and the sleeves. When I first felt the material it seemed lighter/thinner than I expected but it was surprisingly warm for its weight. I've worn it as a base layer for both mountaineering/backpacking and skiing. The Pros: extremely comfortable (both the cut and seam position), well constructional, I like the zipper for heat regulation, it's great for packing and dries quickly. The product does exactly what it's designed to do and works well for a wide range of temperatures. Cons: Some individuals may prefer a heavier base layer for severe cold conditions but I'd rather add another layer. It's a little pricy, but you get what you pay for.
