We recommend ordering this boot 1/2 size larger than your typical US size. See drop down selection for European/US size equivalents. Note that a "plus" size is slightly larger than a US half size but smaller than the next whole size.

I bought my La Sportiva Nepal Evo GTX specifically for ice climbing. I initially bought my size a 38.5 but had to return it to get a half size larger which turned out very comfortable. My first outing with the boots it was 5 degrees F outside and my feet did get cold while standing belaying but each time I started moving my feet warmed up. I love the light weight as compared to plastic boots and the fit is so much better, women specific! I love how they handle in snow. I've been hiking in them and the ankle support is terrific. They are a great all around mountaineering boot and I am so glad I found them. You may need a warmer boot in very cold temps and do buy a 1/2 size larger. I would definitely recommend this boot.

Thanks for the excellent price offering and sizing advice from Whittaker, I got a pair of my first pair of La Sportiva boots and took it to a climbing trip at Mexico - Izta and Orizaba. La Sportiva Trango was way too narrow for me so this time I went half size up with a plus (39.5 plus). It turns out to be plenty roomy. Almost the kind of roominess I typically get from Asolo boots. I was able to wear wool liner and two pair of thick mountaineering socks and still have good space to wiggle my toes. No breaking was attempted till I landed my feet in the high hut at Izta. I didn't experience any discomfort/pain other than the stiffness expected from such boots. It was plenty warm throughout a two full day hike up from 12,800 ft to 15,700 ft and 17,000 ft up and down.
However I did experience a cold feet on the subsequent Orizaba climb. It was a normal early morning start around 1:30 am. At 16,400 ft level, both feet (more so on the toes) started feeling a bit numb and stayed somewhat numb all the way close to the summit. Going downhill helped warm up the toes and I felt a tad itchiness. The weather was calm and temperature was ideal. I was not sure it was because of the three layers of socks or my own body effect but I was not prepared to experience the cold feet with this pair of boots. I didn't use the tongue insert that came with the boots. It looks and feels awful. I don't use insert in general.
Overall I am pleased with the boots and consider it a good investment for climbing in the volcanoes. Not sure I could take it up to the volcanoes in Ecuador or Per.
