Possibly the most famous of all MSR products, the Coyote Snow Picket has stood atop the world's highest peaks as well as in countless snowy playgrounds right here in North America. They are extruded from aircraft-grade heat-treated aluminum, which minimizes weight and maximizes strength. MSR modified the T-shaped cross-section and put more metal where strength and bending resistance are needed most. The result is a 20% increase in holding power over other pickets because MSR's design exposes more surface area to the snow. Coyotes are convenient, too - attachment points are at 3-inch/7.6cm intervals along the neutral axis.

This picket works great. I bought the 3 ft version which is unnecessarily large. I have heard of people sawing them down and using them as two 1.5 foot pickets, but have not done that yet. A problem I have had with the picket is somehow the aluminium has been cut a little bit so that there is a bent sharp shard that sticks out from the side. Pretty easy to grind off. It is nice to be able to tie off at different parts of the picket to make a deadman, or to use it vertically as a picket.
