I got these pants in the summer of 2007 and have really enjoyed them. They have proven to be a very durable and reliable piece of gear. (Comfortable too, just like wearing pajamas!) I just spent the last week of March 09 on the Washington Coast and wore them the entire time. They are Barnacle abrasion resistant and dry very fast after a rainsquall! The year I got them I wore them for a week on Rainier (attending RMI's Kautz Expedition Seminar) and found them to be comfortable from Paradise to high camp. I run very hot when I hike/climb and they breathe extremely well even on a hot day. Summit day I wished I had worn a light base layer, but was quite comfortable while moving. Great pants for all season hiking and summer climbing. The good: Light, quick drying, comfortable and quite durable. The bad: The waist belt tends to twist inside the sleeve, but I'm in my mid 40's and rocking the "muffin top" so that may be the cause. A word on sizing; if you are not familiar with Mammut products they tend to run small, but I would recommend buying these a bit snug as they do stretch out after a couple of trips.
