Depending on the freezing level during your Rainier climb, you may be required to rent double boots instead of single layer climbing boots. These double boots are made up of an insulating inner boot and a water proof exterior boot. It is up to your lead RMI guide to decide whether your climb will require single or double boots, and they will let you know during orientation.

If a product you have purchased goes on sale within 7 days of your purchase, we are happy to offer you store credit for the difference. If your purchase meets the above criteria, fill out our contact form and we’ll be happy to help.

We are happy to price match for you as long as you find the identical product (size, color, season, style) on another site and both the competitor and we have the product in stock at the time of the order.  We also need the website link to locate the product on the competitor’s site to confirm that it is the same product.  We are unable to discount the product below 40% of its retail price and our policy does not allow for prices listed on auction sites such as eBay.  The price match cannot be combined with another current promotion.  Finally, the competitor must be located in the United States.

Whittaker Mountaineering does not allow purchase of our goods for unauthorized resale. We reserve the right to deny service to any individual or party that we deem necessary. If we find that your order violates our standards of conduct in any way, or believe that you are purchasing product in order to resell it without the vendor's permission, your order will be canceled and the purchase amount refunded.

Items that are no longer needed or wanted for your trip must be cancelled 24 hours prior to your reservation start date (Unless climbing with RMI Expeditions) in order to receive a refund for your rental purchase.  Any pickup orders placed within 24 hours of the reservation start date are non-refundable. For any changes that may occur, you can contact the Rental Office via e-mail at rentals@whittakermountaineering.com or by phone at (360) 569-2142 or 1-800-238-5756 at least 24 hours to you reservation start date.  Reservations can only be made for a maximum of 31 days.

PLEASE NOTE*

Once reservations are picked up and taken off of company property, the rental reservation becomes non-refundable. 

For International or Denali trips, your rental gear will be shipped from our office 3-4 weeks prior to the orientation date provided.  All reservations need to be made at least 45 days in advance of the trip start date.  This allows enough time for you to familiarize yourself with the gear and to make sure everything fits properly.  For any changes that may occur, you can contact the Rental Office via e-mail at rentals@whittakermountaineering.com or by phone at (360) 569-2142 or 1-800-238-5756.  International/Denali orders that have been shipped from our store, are no longer eligible for a refund. 

PLEASE NOTE: International Rental Reservations will be charged the full shipping cost to get the gear to your location. YOU are responsible for shipping fees TO and FROM your location. These fees are calculated once we can review your order and estimate how much shipping the items to your location will cost.

International Rental gear cannot be shipped outside of the continental United States.  Reservations can only be made for a maximum of 31 days.

Clearance Items, Food, gift cards, undergarments or load-bearing climbing equipment (including products such as ropes, harnesses and carabiners) are not eligible for return.  

For all eligible items, we will gladly accept the return of new items (all tags included, unused, original packaging, unwashed, boot liners un-molded) within 30 days of the original shipment date of product for a full refund.  

If you are exchanging an item, we recommend that you place a new order with the size/product that you hope to exchange for as soon as possible while it is available in our inventory.

We offer two options for processing product returns. 

Option 1:

We can issue you a prepaid return shipping label directly to your email to use to ship the item back to our store location. Once we receive the item, we will deduct the shipping label cost from your total return.

Option 2:

You may ship the item back to us at 30027 SR 706 E, Ashford WA, 98304 at your own expense for a full refund once the item has been expected and is found in proper working condition. Often times for smaller and lightweight packages, this is the most cost effective route. 

Returns and exchanges outside of the contiguous US are subject to higher shipping costs. We will process the return within a couple days of receiving the package. Please allow approximately 5-10 business days for funds to appear back on your account.

All used items are sold AS IS and are not eligible for returns or exchanges. If you receive an item and believe it has been mis-categorized by tier, you have one week to email us. All orders are shipped via UPS or USPS, unless otherwise directed by the customer. Alaska, Canada and all other international shipments are shipped using the United States Postal Service.
