THE ZIP SYSTEM
The Alpha SL has an intelligently designed side zip system. Running the length of the pant, the zipper separates completely, making the pant exceptionally easy to put on and take off as weather shifts. By partially unzipping each side at the top, the system creates a drop seat, a key feature that is truly appreciated when needed. Arc’teryx WaterTight™ zippers are used for a streamlined, snag free profile.

MAXIMUM VERSATILITY
Designed for a wide range of alpine pursuits, the Alpha SL Pant balances essential features with minimal weight. Drawcords at the hem work with a tuck away bootlace hook to provide a secure, full coverage fit, even while climbing. The dual waist adjusters fit comfortably under a pack or harness, and the trim leg fit reduces crampon snags and allows for more effective layering. Fit and ergonomic performance are essential, so Arc’teryx uses a women’s specific design, carefully articulated e3D patterning and a gusset at the crotch for maximum freedom of movement.

Nice pants but not the usual great arcteryx fit I'm used to

I love Arcteryx and own several pairs of pants and a couple jackets. I was excited about finding a lightweight pair of full zip arcteryx pants that were less expensive than the beta ar full zip pants but these were disappointing and a terrible fit. I'm petite with a small waist and fairly muscular legs. most arcteryx xs pants fit great - snug in the waist and plenty of leg room but that was not the case with these pants. The XS was too big in the waist, baggy around the stomach and snug across the upper legs. There is an adjustment at the waist to tighten it but it didn't work well. I also thought the elastic & hook closure at the top of the zipper on each side at the waist was not a great design. It would be extremely difficult to use that closure in severe weather with gloves on if you need to take a quick bathroom break. The material and full zips are nice - if this particular fit works for you and you're OK with the hook closures at the top of the zippers then they'd be a great pant. But they weren't for me so I returned them for the reasons noted above.

Use Situation: wanted to use for alpine climbing
