Effectively adjusts to light intensity

I purchased this because it was recommended by the RMI guides in preparation for my upcoming Rainier climb. It will adjust to intense clear sky sunlight bouncing off snow capped glacier. After I received the glasses I validated them under various weather conditions and found they were significantly greater light blocking than other sunglasses and I don't doubt they will approach the 90% blocking factor they claim. The side shields did block the peripheral light entry and will likely make the most significant improvement to reduce glare on the back of the lenses particularly with the reflected light off of the glacier. I will update this review as I go through the typical Wisconsin winter. My mid-western training program.

Use Situation: Just using them around my routine activity. However, they are so dark as to not be comfortable for routine non-winter activity.

good, comfortable glasses

So far very satisfied. Seem to trasnsition well in variable lighting during mountain bike rides from sun to shade. Will use them this winter in the mountains for skiing and skinning and hope they work as well.

Use Situation: mountain biking, hiking

Good glasses

They fit large (wide) and do allow a little area under the bottom for reflection on a snowfield if you don't have them pulled in close on nose (which has no bridge padding). The Zebra lenses work well, even though they seem a little "light". You can see extremely well in virtually any light condition. I bought these glasses to be multipurpose, but intended for a Rainier trip. If you want solely glacier glasses that aren't good for much else, I'd get the Spectron 4 lenses with a different frame shape. All in all, I'm very happy with them and they did well on the mountain.

Fit: Slightly Large

Use Situation: Rainier climb

Got the zebras. Good fit and the transition lenses are smooth. Use them for running but will use on Rainier climb in 2015.
