For Black Diamond glove sizing, measure your palm girth and palm length, then determind your size from the chart below. Choose the larger of the two measurement results.
Palm girth: measure around your dominant hand at the knuckles with your fingers together.
Palm length: measure from the crease at the base of your wrist (on palm side) to the tip of your middle finger
I did the palm and length measurements and ended up with 8.5 inches, the smaller in the medium size range. I understand these gloves should be snug but I cannot fully open or close my hand with a size medium. No worries though, I purchased the large and gave the medium to my sister. The initial quality looks good and I cannot wait to try them.
Fit: Slightly Small
These are good gloves. They work well in moderate temperatures. They are the first gloves you put on until it gets colder. Wore these in 25 degree temps and they were fine. They do run small, at least for me. I got a large based on the sizing recommended; I should have bought a X-large. I don't like my gloves tight. I have only used these twice and have not lived in them so take that into consideration from my review.
