Fuhrer Finger

RMI's Fuhrer Finger climb runs as a five-day alpine-style ascent — four climbers, two guides, one of Rainier's quietest summit lines. It's the next step for climbers who've already done a DC or Easton climb and want sustained steep snow and ice instead of standard glacier travel. Expect a long summit day, a small team, and a route that rewards efficiency over volume.

Pick up boots, crampons, ice axe, and pack at our rental shop in Ashford — fitted by staff who climb Rainier every season. Renting the heavy items keeps you from buying gear you'll only use a handful of times and lets you save space in your duffel for the layers and small items you do own.
