Baker - Ski Descent

RMI's Baker Summit & Ski Descent runs as a three-day Level 2 ski-mountaineering trip — a skin-and-climb approach to high camp, a summit push to 10,781 feet, and a 5,000+ foot ski descent back to the trailhead. It's a step up from a backcountry-ski course: you're managing glaciated terrain on a real summit, then descending it on skis. Strong resort and backcountry skiing skills plus prior glacier-travel experience are required.

Avalanche trio, ski-mountaineering crampons, ice axe, harness, and rope — all rentable from our Ashford shop so you don't buy hardware you'll use a handful of times. Bring your own touring setup (skis, boots, bindings, skins) — fit and feel are too personal to rent.
