Everest Base Camp Trek - Lobuche

RMI's 23-day EBC + Lobuche program runs the full lodge-to-lodge Khumbu trek — Namche, Tengboche, two nights at Base Camp, sunrise on Kala Patthar — then climbs the 20,075-foot Lobuche East peak via steep alpine ice and fixed lines. Summit day runs 10-13 hours. Pitched as a great first trip above 15,000 feet for climbers with prior mountaineering experience and rope-team skills.

The Lobuche add-on roughly doubles your gear list — full mountaineering boots, crampons, harness, ice axe, ascenders, helmet on top of trekking kit. Our rental shop in Ashford stocks the technical items maintained by staff who climb Rainier every season, so you can rent the climbing gear and bring the layers you own.

This collection mirrors RMI's official equipment list for the EBC + Lobuche program. The technical additions over the standard trek — full-shank crampon-compatible mountaineering boots, 12-point crampons, harness, ice axe, mechanical ascender, belay device, helmet — are non-negotiable for the Lobuche summit push and are guide-checked before high camp.
