Our Take

The Rush TRK GTX is the boot we grab when the mileage is high but the terrain is unpredictable. It solves the classic problem of trail runners being too flimsy for a heavy pack, and traditional leather boots being too heavy for a fast pace. To us, It feels less like a boot and more like a suit of armor for your running shoes.

Hybrid Performance: Blends the lightweight, sensitive feel of a trail running shoe with the ankle support and protection of a hiking boot.
GORE-TEX Protection: Features a GORE-TEX Extended Comfort membrane that provides durable waterproofing while allowing sweat vapor to escape during high-output efforts.
Presa® Outsole: The proprietary Presa® TRK-01 sole with SuperGum rubber offers exceptional grip on both wet and dry surfaces, with a lug pattern designed for braking on descents.
DST Chassis: The Dynamic Stabilizer Torsion frame provides rearfoot stability and torsional control, preventing ankle rolls on technical terrain.
Autofit Collar: A padded 3D ergonomic collar wraps the ankle to reduce pressure points and seal out debris.
Perwanger Suede: The upper is constructed with robust water-resistant suede and fabric for a balance of durability and breathability.

Whittaker Mountaineering was born out of the need for RMI to make sure their clients had the appropriate gear to get to the top of Mt. Rainier safely. After decades of trying, reviewing, arguing-over, and recommending gear, we can’t help but know what we’re doing by this point. Scarpa boots typically feature a precise, technical fit. The Rush TRK uses a medium width last; customers with wider feet may find it snug and should consider sizing up 1/2 size, especially for downhill comfort.

These boots generally run true to size with a generous toe box characteristic of the Moab line, allowing for natural foot splay over long distances.

Like the low-top version, these run small. We highly recommend sizing up by 1/2 to 1 full Euro size to prevent toe bang on long descents.
