RMI's Ski Crevasse Rescue School teaches rope work, anchor building, and self-extrication in the specific context of ski and snowboard travel — using skis and boards as anchor materials, adapting standard pulley systems to skinned-up glacier touring, and practicing rescue scenarios on Mount Rainier's lower slopes between 6,000 and 6,600 feet. This one-day Level 1 course is purpose-built for skiers and splitboarders who want to travel on glaciated terrain without leaving rescue skills to chance.

Climb Ski Crevasse Rescue School with RMI

RMI's Ski Crevasse Rescue School runs as a one-day Level 1 course on Mount Rainier — knots, anchors, C and Z pulley systems, mechanical ascenders, and self-rescue, all adapted for skiers and splitboarders. Unlike the standard Crevasse Rescue School, instructors here demonstrate using skis and snowboards as anchor material and teach rope-team protocols specific to skinned-up glacier travel. Prior climbing or ski-touring experience is required.
