Little Tahoma

RMI's Little Tahoma climb runs as a five-day Level 3 expedition with a small team, an approach to high camp on the Fryingpan Glacier, a skills day on glacier travel and rope systems, and a long summit day that mixes glacier crossings with exposed Class 3–4 scrambling. It's the right next step for climbers who've done a DC or Easton climb and want sustained glacier travel plus a rock summit — and a quieter side of Rainier than the standard routes.

Pick up boots, crampons, ice axe, harness, and pack at our rental shop in Ashford — five minutes from the Rainier BaseCamp where the trip begins. Renting the heavy items keeps you from buying expensive gear you'll use once a season and frees up duffel space for the personal layers and small items you do own.
