2025 R1 Air Full-Zip Hoody

I love this piece. It is warm enough when there’s a chill, and it’s not super cold, or a good layering option when it gets colder. It has a great hood, and good sized, sturdy pockets.

I purchased this item as part of the recommended list for climbing Denali with RMI in May 2025. While I haven't done the climb yet, I have used this hoody for outdoor winter runs. It has proven to be an excellent addition to my outdoor workout gear, keeping me warm without overheating, and I expect it to remain a regular part of my winter exercise wardrobe for years to come.

I got my Patagonia R1 air hoodie in time and delivered perfectly. The gear price was amazing and the quality is too notch. I use Patagonia R1 air for all high output winter activities and sometime at home as well. The R1 is very breathable middle layer and highly recommended.

I purchased this to use as an insulation layer when I am active. Most synthetic insulation jackets I have run too warm and overheat me when I am moving uphill in cold weather. This jacket hits the sweet spot where it does keep me warm but not overly so when I am on the move on a hike or scramble (especially uphill).

It may not be ideal for warmth when you are stationary but if you are clearly aware of your body temperature regulation, this might be worth a try.
