Weighing in at an astounding 940g—lighter than many single leather mountaineering boots—it completely redefines the weight penalty of extreme warmth. This double boot system utilizes a "Core-Wrap" construction to maximize thermal efficiency without the bulk of traditional "moon boots," while the external BOA® Fit System allows you to micro-adjust the fit without ever unzipping the gaiter or exposing your hands to the biting cold.

Our Take

This is the boot that changed the game for high-altitude climbing. In the past, 8000-meter boots were heavy, clunky "moon boots" that made technical climbing a nightmare. The Olympus Mons Pro feels incredibly nimble by comparison, allowing for precise footwork on the Step or the Bottleneck. The ability to crank down the BOA lace system without taking off your overmitts, or opening the gaiter, is a massive safety feature when the ambient temperature is -30°F.

Details & Features

Core-Wrap™ Construction: An innovative inner shell design that blends structural reinforcements with heat-insulating fabric, providing stability and warmth with significantly reduced volume.
External BOA® Fit System: The dual-zone dial is located on the outside of the gaiter, allowing for instant, gloved-hand adjustments to the internal lacing without exposing the inner boot to the elements.
Primaloft® Gold Aerogel: The removable inner boot features a 3mm layer of Primaloft® Aerogel—originally developed by NASA—to provide the highest possible insulation value for its weight.
Vibram® MorFlex Sole: An ultra-lightweight expanded EVA sole compound that maximizes insulation and shock absorption while keeping the overall boot weight under a kilogram.
Weatherproof Gaiter: A fully integrated, water-repellent gaiter with a heavy-duty zipper and adjustable elastic cuff seals out spindrift and wind.
